JFS Care carefully supervises and monitors our team of caregivers via both scheduled and non-scheduled visits to our clients’ homes while senior care is being provided. We also provide follow-up phone calls to our clients and their family members to ensure that everyone is in competent, capable hands.

Steven Barlam
CEO
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Steve has assumed the CEO role at JFS Care after 30 years in the private sector. His driving motto is, “It has to be good enough for my mom,” as he is all about ensuring quality care experiences for our clients and their families. In order to deliver upon our promise, he knows that JFS Care needs to do three things really well: (1) attract and (2) treasure quality care staff; as well as (3) provide professional oversight for the care that is delivered. Steve values both tradition and innovation as he leads his team to grow JFS Care’s presence to deliver better care solutions in Los Angeles.

Merrie Beth Boatright
COO
Merrie Beth ensures that JFS Care is providing a top-of-the-line care experience for our clients and their families, as well as assisting with creating an engaging and rewarding work environment for our care staff. Merrie Beth worked for Jewish Family Service of Los Angeles as part of the caregiver registry program for 5 years prior to accepting a leadership role with JFS Care. Outside of work, Merrie Beth enjoys spending time with family, including her four-legged and furry family members. She also loves spending time camping and at animal rescues.

Linda Karchem
Life Care Manager
Linda is committed to ensuring consistent, high quality client care. She conducts comprehensive assessments and oversees the development of customized care plans, while providing ongoing oversight and support for family caregivers. With more than 20 years of experience helping clients of all ages, Linda’s goal is to make a positive difference in clients’ lives and to help them achieve the best possible care experience. Linda holds a degree in music therapy from Arizona State University, a certificate in HR Management from Loyola University, and is a classically trained violist.

Ruthie Rosenberg
Care Liaison and Life Care Manager
Ruthie is passionate about finding the best care solutions. A social worker for more than 30 years, Ruthie has extensive experience assisting those who are facing transitions and eldercare concerns. Additionally, Ruthie is credentialed as a life care manager and Care Manager Certified (CMC) by the National Academy of Certified Care Managers. Through practical problem solving, connecting clients with the right community resources, and her experience in healthcare, Ruthie is an empathetic advocate for clients and families. Ruthie attended Wurzweiler School of Social Work, with a concentration on individual counseling and received a bachelor’s in sociology from Stern College.

Camille Scott
Home Care Manager
Camille helps new clients to find the right JFS Care services for their needs. She also oversees our caregiving staff, ensuring that services being provided to our clients are done so in a responsible, appropriate manner. Camille worked for many years as a certified nursing assistant and brings a wealth of hands-on knowledge and insights to JFS Care. When not at work, Camille enjoys spending time with her four children who keep her very busy with all of their sports and academic pursuits.

Maria (Jessica) Solis
Billing and Payroll Specialist
Under the supervision of JFS Care’s COO, Maria ensures that our billing and payroll systems run smoothly and accurately. Her prior roles at Universal Studios and Bank of America honed her skills and provided her with valuable experience that she now brings to JFS Care. In her personal time, Maria is often traveling to new and exciting places around the world. She is an accomplished crafter and scrapbooker as well as an avid baseball fan.

Monique Pasillas
Staffing Coordinator
Monique ensures that all of our clients have well-trained and supervised caregivers and is responsible to coordinate our clients’ needs are well matched to our caregiver attributes. She attends to the logistical details to ensure that caregivers are scheduled quickly and efficiently. For many years prior to assuming this role, Monique provided hands-on caregiving services to clients in their own homes as well as to those residing in long-term care facilities. Monique enjoys the outdoors and has hiked through many of the natural wonders across the country. Monique is passionate about training and education and is a champion within our organization, helping us to assure state compliance with training mandates.

Ilona Marder
Caregiver Recruiter/Staffing Coordinator
Ilona helps recruit new caregivers to the JFS Care caregiver pool. Ilona brings her Russian speaking skills to help us attract and communicate most effectively with our Russian speaking caregivers and clients. She also helps coordinate care needs by making the right matches based on her knowledge of our caregivers’ skills and our clients’ needs and preferences. Prior to this role, Ilona received her degree in Sociology at the California State University at Northridge, CA. Following her degree, she went on to work in the medical field and at a nonprofit homeless walk-in shelter. She has a soft spot for dogs and recently rescued a puppy, who has already won over the hearts of her family.

Mike Allen
Caregiver Recruiter/Staffing Coordinator
Mike helps with recruitment of new caregivers for the JFS Care team. He helps coordinate and facilitate the orientations for all new hires, so that they are ready to go to work. Mike has been a recruiter for six years, having recently found a new passion for working in healthcare. When not at work, Mike likes to spend time with friends, family and his two fur babies.

Elizabeth Orozco
Staffing Coordinator
Elizabeth ensures that all clients have well-trained and supervised caregivers and is responsible for coordinating our clients’ needs and providing the best match based on caregiver attributes. She attends to the logistical details to ensure that caregivers are scheduled quickly and efficiently. Elizabeth has been in the home care field for over ten years and has a lot of hands-on caregiving experience along with administrative roles. Elizabeth has a passion for helping those in need and does what it takes to go the extra mile to see that clients are happy. In her free time, Elizabeth loves to host and spend time with friends and family.
