If your personal care assistant calls in sick, we will call you immediately to ask if you would like a replacement caregiver. If you indicate that you would like a replacement caregiver sent to your home, we will make every effort to send a replacement caregiver as quickly as possible for you.
Yes. JFS Care serves clients who reside in senior living communities, assisted living centers, and long-term care facilities. We can also provide bedside companionship during hospital stays.

The JFS Care office is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 5 pm. If you require assistance after 5 pm or over the weekend, a live operator will answer your call and connect you with our On-Call Home Care Manager.

In-home care is versatile and available to anyone who needs a helping hand in order to perform activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, housekeeping, meal preparation, transportation to and from appointments, shopping, etc. – and to those who simply need some companionship at home.

Home care services allow older adults and disabled individuals to receive the care and attention they need in the comfort and familiarity of their own homes, as opposed to moving into an assisted living or nursing home facility. Receiving care in the home also allows individuals to rest and heal in comfort following a surgical procedure or hospital stay. At JFS Care, we design our in-home care plans with an eye toward helping our clients remain engaged and active.

JFS Care requires 2 years of prior caregiving experience, and every new personal care assistant must attend training courses to meet requirements for new caregivers in the state of California. After that, all caregivers are required to complete 5 additional hours of training per year. We actively encourage our personal care assistants to pursue as much training as possible by compensating them for any approved additional training completed via the Institute for Professional Care Education (IPCed). IPCed is a leader in online caregiver training and certification for the assisted living and home care industries.
Our personal care assistants are fingerprinted for screening through the Department of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. We also complete a criminal background check and driving record report for each caregiver via a national security firm. Additionally, we perform random drug testing and diligently verify all references for new applicants. All applicants must undergo a personality evaluation and in-person interview by our HR coordinator. If hired, all personal care assistants are required to participate in our training protocols with our care managers and HR coordinator.
Yes. All of our personal care assistants and office employees are fully insured and bonded for your safety, protection and peace of mind.
Yes. JFS Care is a California Licensed Home Care Agency with the Home Care Service Bureau. Our license number is 194700007.
No. Because our services are non-medical in nature, they are not covered by Medicare, Medicaid, or health insurance. If you have long-term care insurance, we can help you determine if your policy will cover any of our services.
We require that an active credit card is kept on file. You can choose to have us auto-charge your card or we can contact you for approval to charge your credit card. You can also make payments on our website. We accept, VISA, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. Payments by check or money order are also acceptable.

All we require is a minimum of one hour of care for our home care and housekeeping services. We make every effort to accommodate your service needs.

The price of our services is determined based upon your unique needs. Once we are able to assess your care needs by phone or in person, we can provide you with pricing information.

We can arrange service as quickly as 24 hours in urgent situations, but it is preferable to first complete an in-person home assessment. We work with you to design your unique care plan and perform a safety inspection of your living accommodations so that we can make recommendations for making your home environment safer.

JFS Care offers a wide range of traditional non-medical home care services, such as assistance with bathing, dressing, personal hygiene, using the bathroom, housekeeping, meal planning and preparation, shopping, and transportation.
